KCP&L is offering a Home Performance with Energy Star rebate of up to $600 for customers who implement at least one energy efficiency improvement that is recommended by a Home Performance certified contractor or consultant.

Home Performance with Energy Star, sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Energy Center, offers a comprehensive approach to home improvement, remodeling, and renovation that will make your home more efficient and reduce energy costs, while improving indoor air quality and creating a more comfortable, healthier home. At the same time, you’ll be helping to protect the environment through energy conservation.

Home Performance certified contractors can help you cost-effectively improve your home’s energy efficiency. These specially-trained BPI Certified contractors evaluate your home using state-of-the-art equipment and recommend comprehensive improvements that will yield the best results.

KCP&L has recently received approval to begin the ENERGY STAR® Rebate Program for New Homes. This program will pay a sizable amount toward the testing and certification costs for a new home. Also, a bonus dollar amount will be given to the builder as well.

This conference came to Kansas City in the spring of 2003 and was affectionately dubbed, "The ACKC Conference". Affordable Comfort (Also known as ACI) is coming to KC on April 27th, 2009.
